10 Million Presses
Stainless steel snap domes last through years of heavy public use without losing their crisp feel.
Waterproof & Vandal-Resistant
IP67 to IP69K sealing handles rain, hose-down cleaning, and outdoor exposure; solid metal panels resist impact and prying.
Glove-Friendly Tactile Feel
Keys require 200–600 gf of force—firm enough for gloved hands, light enough for comfortable typing.
Permanent Legends
Fiber laser etching creates legends that won’t peel, fade, or wear off, even after thousands of cleaning cycles.
Easy Wiring
Choose ZIF, pin header, or crimp connectors; we match your kiosk’s existing wiring for plug-and-play installation.
Built for Outdoors
Operates from -40°C to +85°C; stainless steel or anodized aluminum resists rust, salt spray, and UV exposure.
Make It Fit Your Kiosk Perfectly
Keypado works from your drawings or helps you design from scratch. Every detail—size, layout, legends, connectors—can be tailored to your kiosk.

Sealing & Protection
Material & Panel Size
- Choose stainless steel (1.5–3 mm) for maximum toughness or anodized aluminum (2–5 mm) for lighter weight and corrosion resistance.
- Panels can be as small as a single key or as large as 480×300 mm for multi-key arrays.
- Finishes include brushed, polished, or bead-blasted; aluminum available in black, silver, or custom colors.
Key Layout & Feel
- Define exact key positions and sizes using your CAD drawing; we lock everything before production starts.
- Select key feel from light (200 gf) to firm (600 gf); 250–350 gf works well for most kiosks, including gloved use.
- Add tactile borders, Braille dots, or raised keys for accessibility and blind usability.
Legend Marking
- Fiber laser etching creates permanent black or contrast legends on stainless steel or anodized aluminum.
- Legends are deep enough to resist wear but shallow enough for easy cleaning; optional epoxy fill for extra contrast.
- Add your logo, color zones (red cancel/green confirm), and safety symbols to match your brand.
Connector & Wiring
- Specify FPC/FFC tails with ZIF, pin header, or crimp connectors; we match your kiosk’s existing connector part number.
- Control tail length, contact pitch, and stiffener thickness for reliable mating with your mainboard.
- Add strain relief clamps and cable guides for vibration-prone installations like transit gates or fuel pumps.
Sealing & Protection
- Choose IP65 (splash-proof), IP67 (immersion), IP69K (high-pressure washdown), or NEMA 4X (corrosion-resistant outdoor).
- Perimeter welding for stainless panels or compression gaskets with silicone O-rings for aluminum housings.
- All cable exits use molded boots to prevent water ingress and cable fatigue.
Keypado Applications
Why Keypado is Your Go-to Choice
Built to Last Millions of Presses
Our metal keypads use stainless steel snap domes rated for 1–10 million presses per key. Each dome is positioned precisely and tested for consistent feel across the entire keypad. Even after years of 24/7 public use, keys stay crisp and responsive.
Waterproof, Dustproof, Vandal-Resistant
Fully welded stainless steel or compression-sealed aluminum housings achieve IP67 to IP69K ratings. These keypads handle rain, hose-down cleaning, and even temporary immersion. Solid metal panels resist impact, drilling, and prying in unattended kiosks.
Legends That Never Fade
Fiber laser etching penetrates the metal surface to create permanent legends. Unlike printed overlays, laser-etched text won’t peel, fade, or wear off—even after thousands of cleaning cycles with alcohol or industrial detergents.
Plug-and-Play Installation
Every keypad ships with a custom tail and connector matched to your kiosk’s wiring. ZIF, pin header, or crimp options simplify installation—no rewiring needed. Matrix wiring keeps cables slim for tight enclosures.
From Your Drawing to Kiosk-Ready Keypad in 5 Steps
Keypado’s streamlined workflow ensures your custom keypads are engineered, prototyped, and mass-produced to your exact specs—with full documentation and traceability.
1. Share Your Requirements
Send us your kiosk CAD, console layout, or even a photo of your existing keypad. Our engineers review key positions, panel thickness, connector type, and environmental needs (waterproofing, vandal resistance). We lock everything before quoting to avoid changes later.
2. Design & Material Selection
We specify panel material (stainless or aluminum), thickness, dome type, and sealing method based on your environment. Outdoor kiosks get IP69K sealing and UV-resistant materials; indoor kiosks get lighter options.
3. Prototype & Testing
We produce 5–50 prototypes with your exact legends, layout, and connector. You test fit, feel, and function in your kiosk. Revisions to legends or key positions are documented with controlled drawings.
4. Mass Production & QC
Once approved, we scale to volume production with laser cutting, CNC punching, and automated dome assembly. Each batch undergoes visual inspection, electrical testing, and random waterproof tests. Full traceability includes material certs and production date.
5. Shipping & Support
Keypads are packaged in anti-static bags with desiccant, then foam-lined boxes for global shipment. We provide installation guides and connector mating instructions. For field issues, our team supports rapid replacement.
FAQs
Prototypes take 7–12 business days after CAD approval; mass production runs require 4–5 weeks for quantities under 5,000 units. Lead times vary based on complexity (laser etching, sealing) and material availability. We offer expedited builds for urgent deployments.
Yes. Provide your current keypad’s drawing, photos, or a physical sample. We reverse-engineer the panel thickness, dome type, tail length, connector type, and pin map to ensure drop-in replacement. Controlled drawings prevent mismatches during production.
Standard outdoor keypads achieve IP65 (splash-proof) and IP67 (immersion). For high-pressure, high-temperature washdown (80°C, 100 bar), we design IP69K-certified keypads. NEMA 4X adds corrosion resistance for coastal or chemical-exposed environments.
We use calibrated stainless steel snap domes with ±10% force tolerance and position them precisely. Each production batch is sampled and tested for trip force, travel, and snap ratio. Keys feel the same from the first press to the millionth.
Absolutely. We specify domes with 200–600 gf actuation forces; 250–350 gf is typical for kiosks requiring gloved operation (transit, healthcare, industrial). Snap ratio ensures tactile feedback remains perceptible even with thick gloves.
Provide DXF, DWG, AI, or vector PDF files with key positions, legend text, and panel outline. If you lack drawings, we can reproduce existing panels from samples or CAD files. Our team can also create layouts from your brand guidelines.
Yes. We produce prototypes from 5 units using laser cutting and CNC machining. This allows rapid iteration on key layouts, legends, or tail routing before committing to mass production. No tooling charges for standard dome sizes.
Standard stainless steel keypads operate from -40°C to +85°C. For extreme environments (outdoor fuel pumps, marine decks), we use high-temp adhesives and conformal-coated PCBs rated for continuous operation in direct sunlight and salt spray.
We specify FPC tails with minimum 20–40× bend radius for dynamic applications, add stiffeners at the connector interface, and route cables away from sharp edges or moving parts. Strain relief clamps and cable guides prevent fatigue at the termination point.
Yes. We design to RoHS, REACH, and UL94 V-0 flammability standards. For medical or food-service kiosks, we use 316 stainless steel and antimicrobial coatings. Military/aviation projects can include NVIS dimming and MIL-STD-810G environmental testing.
